Members of the board of the Cyprus Association of Lobbyists and Public Affairs Professionals (LPAP) met with the members of the Independent Authority Against Corruption to discuss the measures that the authority will promote in order to enforce the new law on lobbying.
The members of LPAP, informed the authority about the awareness seminars they organised in order to inform the public about the provisions of the law and inquired when the authority will start operating.
The latest information is that the operations of the Authority will start early next year, after the Parliament approves its internal regulations. After this, an online portal including a register and a system to report meetings between lobbyists and policymakers will be implemented. The two bodies agreed to keep in touch and collaborate in order to promote transparent lobbying.
