The Cyprus Association of Lobbyists and Public Affairs Professionals had a meeting with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cyprus. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Justice Ms. Stephie Dracos and three departmental officials and the Cypriot Association of Lobbyists and Public Affairs Professionals was represented by its President, Mrs. Mary Pyrgou and the Press Relations & House of Parliament official Mr. Nicolas Kyriakides.
During the meeting The Cyprus Association of Lobbyists and Public Affairs Professionals declared its support to the “Transparency in Public Decision-Making Processes and Related Issues Law of 2019” and at the same time requested from the Minister that stricter measures το be included within the proposed Bill in order to ensure transparency.
The minister stated that the bill can be passed in its current form and that there is a convergence of views between the two parties and be reformed later. Subsequently, representation from the Cyprus Association of Lobbyists and Public Affairs Professionals called for the introduction of a three-year review clause into the bill. Our request has been accepted by the Minister of Justice.
